Locomotive 5802, 2-10-2
Type. One
of a series of fifteen Santa Fe type heavy freight engines
designed
by the Railway Company and built at their Angus Shops in
Montreal. These
locomotives are used in heavy freight service in mountainous
districts
and are the most powerful of their type used in road service
in Canada.
The maximum tractive effort is 65,900 lbs., and the total
weight of the
engine and tender in working order is 538,600 lbs. These
are
two-cylinder simple locomotives, some of which were equipped
for
burning oil and some for burning coal. Canadian Pacific

Santa Fe Type 2102 Locomotives, 4100. The Canadian National Railways have
in heavy freight transfer service,
what is known on the Railway as the " T-2 " class.
These locomotives are
among the heaviest non-articulated locomotives in the world,
having a
boiler 104" diameter at the largest course. They are
92' 8" overall,
with a total weight of engine and tender in working order
of 655,000
lbs. The cylinders are 29" diameter by 32" stroke
and the boiler
pressure is 200 lbs. per square inch. Canadian National
