Engine No. 4073 "Caerphilly
Castle" 4-6-0.
The first of the latest series of 4-6-0
or ten-wheel four cylinder
simple expansion locomotives, having two outside cylinders
driving the
middle pair of coupled wheels, whilst the inside drive the
leading pair. Is fitted with a large boiler, superheater,
Belpaire firebox, and the
usual G.W.B. standard appliances. A new type of cab with
side windows is
provided. Built at Swindon, the total weight of the engine
and tender in
working order is 120 tons. Great Western Railway.

Engine No. 414 4-6-0.
A modern and powerful express passenger
engine of the 4-6-0 or ten wheel
type. Fitted with all the latest appliances, superheater,
mechanical
lubricators, top feed, Belpaire firebox, &c. It will
be noticed that the
cab on the engine, and also on the tender, are both fitted
with sun
blinds, thus affording the engine men protection from the
heat, this
being a common feature on Colonial locomotives. The total
weight of the
engine and tender in working order is 110 1/2 tons. Sengal-Nagpur

Engine No. 4511 4-6-2.
A very powerful express passenger
locomotive of the 4-6-2 or "Pacific"
type, having four high-pressure cylinders. ls fitted with
superheater,
mechanical lubricators, steam reverser, and a taper boiler.
Used for
working heavy express trains from Brussels to Herbesthal
and German
Frontier, and through the Ardennes. The total weight of the
engine and
tender in working order is 153 3/4 tons. Belgian State
Railways.
