Engine No. 302 0-6-2 2-6-0 Tank

Engine No. 302 0-6-2 2-6-0 Tank. A very powerful articulated tank locomotive of the rather unusual 0-6-2 2-6-0 type. It ia compound and has four cylinders—two small high-pressure and two large low-pressure. A feature of interest is the articulation between the two sets of engines, whereby great flexibility is given, so that sharp curves can be traversed easily. Water is carried in four long side tanks, two being located on either side. Built in Belgium, the total weight of the engine in working order is 102 tons. Peking-Hankow Railway, China.

Engine No 333 - Remembrance - 4-6-4

Engine No 333 - Remembrance - 4-6-4. The latest express tank locomotive of the 4-6-4 or "Baltic" type, and built at Brighton. Dedicated by the L B.S.C.R. to the memory of their men who fell in the Great War, this engine, appropriately named "Remembrance," has two bronze tablets, suitably inscribed, affixed to the side tanks. This engine, and others of this type, work the heavy fast passenger expresses between London and Brighton, covering the distance of 52 miles in the hour. The engine weighs in working order 98 1/2
tons.
Southern Railway - London, Brighton & South Coast Section.

Engine No. 4016

Engine No. 4016 "Knight of the Golden Fleece" 4-6-0 Four-cylinder.
One of a very powerful type of six-coupled or ten-wheeler with four

heaviest and fastest express trains in the country. They are fitted
with all the modern G.W.R. standard improvements, and haul heavy
expresses between Paddington (London), Bristol, Plymouth, Cardiff, and Wolverhampton. They are capable of very high speeds. Built at Swindon, the total weight of the engine and tender in working order is 115 1/2 tons
