Engine No. 115 4-6-4
Tank. One
of a series of very powerful passenger tank engines, recently
built at Leeds, for working heavy traffic between White-haven,
Barrow, and Carnforth. This engine is unique in England
as being the first example of an inside cylindered tank
engine with the 4-6-4 wheel formation. There are three
water tanks, one on either side and one under the bunker.
The total weight of the engine in full working order is

Engine No. 1200 4-6-2. A
very powerful express locomotive of the 4-6-2 or " Pacific " type.
Has four cylinders and is a compound, the two high-pressure
cylinders being placed between the frames and the two low-pressure
outside. A superheater is fitted, also the usual standard
accessories as used on the Swedish State Railways. A novel
form of double bogie tender is provided, the body being semicircular
in section and the axles running on ball oearings. Built
at Trollhattan, the total weight of engine and tender in
working order is 143 tons. Swedish State Railways.

Engine No. 1315 4-6-0. A
powerful 4-6-0 or ten-wheel. type, having two simple outside
cylinders, and fitted with all the latest appliances, taper
boiler, Belpaire firebox, superheater, &c. A tender
with large water and coal carrying capacities is provided.
Used for hauling heavy express passenger trains between
Sydney, Goulburn and Albury. Built at the Eveleigh Works
of the N.S.W. Government Railways, the total weight of
the engine and tender in working order is 124 1/2 tons. New
South Wales Government Railways.
