These
remarkable drawings by H.L.Todd were done for the
United States Commission of Fish and Fisheries
in the 1880s. They were originally meant to describe
the various fish species in America, but these
superb etchings are appreciated as beautiful works
of
art. In this
screen saver, 80 individual plates are presented
from the first (of seven) volumes that were printed
by the U.S. National Museum at the time.
