Kivi's Underworld Review - "When I first saw Kivi's Underworld, I thought "Total.. diablo.. rip off" and, although I love diablo, I was pleasantly surprised to see that wasn't true. Although there are similarities, Kivi's Underworld focuses on quests which are (so far) unique, some requiring you to kill certain enemies, some requiring you to find someone, some requiring you to find certain items, and most likely more. There's a ton of different characters to choose from in Kivi's Underworld, so far I've unlocked two (1 by default, 1 by finding the person in a quest), that are unique in their abilities. Each quest in Kivi's Underworld has a storyline which has a nice voice actor. I find them a bit wordy though, and not necessary especially if you're in a rush (from only having the demo version), but luckily Kivi's Underworld has a quest menu so you know what to do even if you don't listen to it. The quests in Kivi's Underworld can take quite awhile, though, depending on how much completion you want (you get trophies for different levels of completion). Some just take awhile in general, so it's not the kind of game you want to play if you can only play for about 10 minutes at a time. Most of the secret passages in Kivi's Underworld are really hard to find. Even with my clicking of random walls, I'm lucky if I can find half of the ones in the level. But, thankfully, the secret passages that are necessary (perhaps leading to a key) are, so far, very easy to find and obvious. Overall, I really like Kivi's Underworld :D The graphics are nice, the sound is nice. The only downside I've experienced is some of the traps aren't even.. there.. but still affect you (perhaps it's because I break every barrel I find ;)). Luckily, at least in Kivi's Underworld's easy mode, they don't seem to do too much damage. Naturally then, one can expect that I enjoyed Kivi's Underworld as well. It seems more user friendly than Depths of Peril had been and less... confusing shall we say? Ok, I didn't like running around the map trying to figure out where to go in the huge barren wasteland. It's better if it's a set of corridors for me to muddle about. So far, I like how I seem to start where I need to be in Kivi's Underworld, however, it would be nice if I could kind of go back. Especially with the 'Down' teleporters, you can't return to that level again. Sad really cause there were alot of powerups I had to leave behind. Oh yeah, the other irksome thing, ONLY 3 POWERUPS? Mannnnnn... When you first try out Kivi's Underworld, you wanna try EVERYTHING! Oh well, I've started to develop favourite powerups as it is already, so I guess that is overcome. All in all, I've so far enjoyed Kivi's Underworld alot! Just as someone else thought it was a Diablo rip-off, I did too, but I wouldn't mind if it was more like a Diablo rip-off.... You know, with the health and mana pickups... *hint hint, nudge nudge* Oh yeah! Secrets are terribly confusing sometimes, but well..
