Giza
Pyramids 3D Screensaver is totally FREE. It takes
you on a virtual fly-around tour of the Giza Plateau.
This Ancient Egyptian necropolis, measuring two square
kilometers, consists of:
- the Pyramid
of Khufu (also known as the Great Pyramid and the
Pyramid of Cheops)
- the
slightly smaller Pyramid
of Khafre (or Kephren)
- the
relatively modest-size Pyramid
of Menkaure (or
Mykerinus)
- a number
of smaller satellite edifices, known as "queens" pyramids.
Associated
with these royal monuments are the tombs of high
officials and much later burials and monuments
(from the New Kingdom onwards) associated with the
reverence to those buried in the necropolis.
The Great Sphinx, located
about 400 meters in front of the Pyramid of Khafre
- at the end of its causeway, is not shown in this
screensaver. However, you can see a wonderful Sphinx
Screensaver listed below.
