The Blackwell Legacy Review - "
The Blackwell Legacy is definitely worth a try. So no one gets stuck first thing with the dog this is what you need to do: DO NOT READ IF YOU WANT TO KNOW ON YOUR OWN! Go up to the dog and let him follow you past the lamp post, then walk down and past the lamp post again so the dog will wrap himself around the lamp post, he will then start barking. You can get a step-by-step walkthrough off the Internet. There is a lot of dialogue in The Blackwell Legacy, but that's because the
game has dialogue puzzles, what you make your character say is important. It reminded me of Full Throttle." - Gamegirl
The Blackwell Legacy Review - "The character development and storyline in The Blackwell Legacy is top-notch.The gameplay also provides several good puzzles (some require a little more thought than others).Roseangela Blackwell, the main character, feels like a real person, and her dialogue and interactions with the other characters are very natural (and often funny!)
Speaking of dialogue, the game has full voice-over!
You can even hear commentary from the game's creator" - Roseanne2
The Blackwell Legacy Review - " The Blackwell Legacy has an engrossing storyline and well-written characters. I especially liked that Rosangela had a tongue, as opposed to some of the more submissive female protagonists who're supposed to carry an opinion but have to please the masses.
The interaction between Joey and Rosa is also entertaining. It's not every day where you find lead characters who aren't a bunch of limp biscuits or who grate on your nerves by over-pandering or by cracking one too many lame jokes.
The notebook combination puzzle was nicely done and although some of the puzzles required thinking, they were fun. Finally, as customary of many investigations, what you have is a list of "suspects" or leads and through questioning and sleuthing, you ask the right questions and find the answers you've been looking for. I guess the execution and implementation could've been better but heck, even certain big budget games have fared poorer too.
The music was all right but I felt it could've been better. And I liked the "retro" feel of the graphics, although they could've been a little smoother" - Gaming Gent
The Blackwell Legacy Review - "'The Blackwell Legacy' is a fun, Nancy Drew-type mystery game involving ghosts and mysterious hauntings. The story and dialogue are entertaining and well-written, and though the graphics may seem sub-par, it didn't detract from the gameplay. The Blackwell Legacy is a great game if you're a casual gamer and enjoy games that make you think, and even better, all of the dialogue is spoken (as much as I like
reading, the voices fit the characters well and make them seem much more three-dimensional). My only qualm with this game is that it was much too short -- but hopefully the sequel will help kill more time." - Mysterioso
The Blackwell Legacy Review - "The Blackwell Legacy is an amazing roleplay and crime puzzle. I love how you can decide how she says things, and how not everything is completely straight forward. Yes, you have to think. That's what's so great about it.
The graphics could always be better." - Gemini
