The Day the Earth Stood Still

I was talking to someone recently (in their late 20s) who had not see The Day the Earth Stood Still. It was almost unbelievable. I thought for a second and asked "Have you seen Jason and the Argonauts?" No, he hadn't see that either. Oh well, surely, sometime in his life he will see both of these classics ... or maybe Big Brother and its "reality" ilk will finally strangle all television programming, and starve a whole generation of film culture (or any culture).

I first saw The Day the Earth Stood Still on an "NBC Saturday Night at the Movies" broadcast. Ah.. the good ol' days!
