Meet Dave is kind of cute, almost, and it raises a few laughs along the way ...but that's all folks. The "story" stalls in a number of places, particularly when it focuses on the broadly drawn foibles of the tiny crew inside the giant robot/spaceship that is known to humans as Dave Ming Chang (a name chosen for its generality).
It is also too easy to spot the edits in this film. For example, at an Apple Computer store Murphy crashes into a shopping cart full of computers, and - - EDIT - - he's suddenly standing on the street. No gaceful transistion, just blam - deal with it.
However, Meet Dave is pleasant enough to buy when it shows up in the $5 DVD discount racks, which shouldn't be too long now. That's where I got Pluto Nash, and it turned out to be a bargain.
