Ah, this movie was a close thing, in that I almost didn't go to see it. Knowing got so many bad reviews (which I didn't read) at Rottentomatoes.com that I thought I would give it a miss. Then, just before leaving the website, I checked out Roger Ebert (Chicago Sun Times), and he liked it very much. He and I are often in agreement on science fiction movies. So, off I go.
KNOWING is amazingly good. It's almost as good as Spielberg's WAR OF THE WORLDS, and in some ways more satisfying. Going in I knew nothing about KNOWING, except for some very basic stuff from the previews, about numerical predictions of the furture coming true. And that's all I'm going to tell you about the suspenseful and brilliant plot of this movie. If you walk out of the movie with more than a few questions, that's great. Think about them, and come to you own conclusions; and you will savor the experience even more. This is top-notch science fiction cinema. Don't miss it.
