Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skill has some good moments, (the first 15 minutes is great) but for those who have been along for all four Jones movies, this one does not rise above the pack. It has some wonderful set pieces and the acting is fine, but ... ho-hum, been there, done that. It also has an unfortunate waterfall sequence that shifts the movie into Cartoon Land, where no one can die or be seriously injured. Let's face it, there will never be another Raiders of the Lost Ark nor does there need to be - it's still around and it's as appealling as ever. It was one of those rare movies that I paid my hard-earned cash to see twice or thrice (The Empire Strikes Back being another). I'm sorry to say Kingdom of the Crystal Skill will not make it into my DVD collection.
