Horton Hears a Who got so many good reviews that I was looking forward to it. However, the movie was strangely flat, and I noticed that young children 3 to 5 years old were not engaged with the film. A group of young adults left about 30 minutes into it. So now I'm wondering who the target audience will turn out to be. I sat through it, but my attention was not rivited on the screen, in spite of the excellent animation and general commotion going on. The problem is that this charming story is not meant to fill a 2 hour time slot. There was so much detail delivered to pad out the time that I remember very little of it.
Bottom line - it got pretty dull pretty quickly. |
