Get Smart

Get Smart is consistently funny, with some peaks of high hilarity. Steve Carell, as Maxwell Smart, and Anne Hathaway as Agent 99 have a great chemistry when they join forces to prevent KAOS from ... well, who cares. It's the one-liners and sight gags that keep you jolly for the entire length of this movie. Alan Arkin is perfectly cast as Chief of CONTROL and has some great comic moments. I saw this movie in a theater with at least 100 teenagers (out of school for some reason) and they were laughing loudly during the film and cheered and applauded at the end - how rare is that? Creative consultants on this film were Mel Brooks and Buck Henry, the developers of the Get Smart television series - and I feel sure that this movie would get Don Adam's seal of approval ..."Ah ha, the old remake-a-hit-tv-series-as-a-hit-movie trick!"
