It's a double whammy week heading into December.
2012 is a disaster movie, but not a disasterous movie. On that level it is entertaining. I loved the special effects, and there were plenty of the them. They were so over-the-top that I was laughing at inappropriate moments in the film (the LA earthquake, or was it San Francisco). The story is yada yada yada and just a vehicle to drive from one special effect to the next. So get some popcorn and let this one wash
over you. It's good fun.

A Christmas Carol 3D
A Christmas Carol 3D is simply the best version ever. Wonderful! Amazing! Stupendous! The 3D snow flakes felt like they were falling on my eyelids, and never was 3D used to better effect in telling a story. This animated movie serves up the best Scrooge character since George C. Scott's unforgettable performance in 1984. But who do I credit - Jim Carrey? or animated Scrooge? It doesn't matter. This
movie is a wonderful holiday treat, but it may be too frightening for kids under 7 years old. It has several dark and truly creepy scenes. Charles Dickens, I raise a cup of eggnog to your immortal legacy!
