The Great Tree Review
- "The Great Tree is gorgeous! The graphics are, hands down,
the best I've seen. It's really realistic--I mean it, creeps me
out to see a mushroom man with eyes that follow me, & I wince
at the thought of being eaten by a frog! The movements of the enemy
are so genuine that when you're attacked, you flinch! The Great
Tree is made to be easy to control, everything just glides with
the mouse. The objective of The Great Tree is very simple &
relaxing, but at the same time - does provide a slight challenge.
If you aren't paying enough attention, you can be eaten, poisoned.
This has a very tiny touch of RPG in it as well, considering you
can build your fairy's stats as you play to be healthier, stronger,
or even faster. The Great Tree game play is simple , but you'll
get caught up in the story and will continue to play. I set my own
challenges of "how many bugs we can kill in one blast".
The music is beautiful, entrancing,
relaxing, and a work of art. It's worth buying this game just for
the graphics & sound alone! Maybe this game is for women
& younger children. Replay is guaranteed because you will want
to go back into land of The Great Tree." - Grettel Hansel

" I usually don't write reviews on games......but....WOW....what
a fantastic game!! As soon as the demo expired...I purchased the
Great Tree. The art work is gorgeous. The graphics are amazing!
The colors used in the backgrounds are beautiful and very easy on
the eyes...for I am not getting any younger. I have a trackball
mouse and everything flows so smoothly. The fairies movements are
very smooth and natural. The music.....ahhhhhh....the music. Wonderful....for
it fits so well with this game. I find myself humming with the music
during the game. The music does not distract you...for it is very
relaxing and soothing. I fact, I love the music so much....that
I find myself playing it on my Native American flute. I
have been playing The Great Tree in normal mode and found it relaxing
with a challenge to it. ..and yes....addicting. Because of the art
work and the graphics I will be playing The Great Tree more often
then any of my other ones. So, overall....excellent game, graphics,
story and music. Great job !!!!" - Gaming Granny

"The Great Tree looks like it might be aimed at Women and Children.
But after playing it, I have to say, as a man, that I was thoroughly
impressed! The game is simple to understand. You are a fairie, and
must collect pollen with your ponytail and then when your ponytail
is full (between 10-18 pollens, depending on the level) you have
to deposit the pollen in the glowing receptacle at the top. In the
meantime, you are dodging bees, wasps, and creatures I can't even
describe. You control the fairie with your mouse ONLY. When you
fill up with pollen, and make the deposit, you are rewarded with
power-ups that include lightning to make the enemy dissapear, or
ice-freeze that freezes the enemy temporarily, and a number of other
power-ups designed to help you through the game. The Great Tree
is easy to learn.. The story is a little bit simple, but the gameplay
is outstanding. The music is very relaxing and doesnt distract you
(I swear that I thought I heard strains of the Moody Blues "Nights
in White Satin"!). And the graphics are breathtaking. The animation
is stunning. It IS kinda creepy to see a tree with eyes follow you,
and when you get too close to his mouth, he tries to suck you in.
Sometimes successfully. All in all, The Great Tree can be played
by any sex, young or old. Its not that hard, and it is a totally
different game than any I have ever played. Stop reading this-----go
download the trial, then get your credit card out, because The Great
Tree is a MUST HAVE! Now excuse me while I go beat level 71!!"

"The Great Tree is totally different to anything else around
at the moment.Simplistic enough to master, captivating enough to
have me buying full version as soon as demo expired. Awsome graphics, wierd
and wonderfull baddies, relaxing music. All-in-all well worth buying.
The Great Tree has a tree that will eat you up if you get too close,
reptilian creatures that catch you with their tongue, loads of flying
insects just waiting for your downfall..... Well done..10/10"

" I could not stop playing The Great Tree until I finished
this beautiful game! The graphics are great, the movements you make
are so smooth - having gotten used to flying like a little fairy,
it really feels natural somehow - and the music is still in my head.
The game itself seems easy but you really get better at it when
you get further in the game. The goal is to find and catch pollen
which feeds the Great Tree, but of course there are difficulties.
It's very interesting how you get 'used' to every sort of insect
that flies around so that you automatically 'know' how to avoid
them. The extra obstacles like frogs, caterpillars and little hanging
men (they are really scary) make it more fun and challenge. And
then there is the score of star points, which give you extra strength,
health, agility, magic etc. - and it's up to you which advantage
you choose. Collecting enough pollen results in giving a big boost
to all those annoying creatures, and other kinds of magic. AND there
are the new pairs of wings that you earn now and then, which also
give you extra advantages. GREAT. When
will part two of The Great Tree be here???" - fairyprincess49
