Laxius Force Review - "A very, very good RPG
I - Story: As of now, Laxius Force 1 is the most plot-heavy of all the Laxius games. You can expect many more cut scenes and much more talking than in the previous games. Fans will be delighted to know that the Grand Commendanter finally makes an in-game appearance. I felt the characters had much more depth, too.
II - Graphics: Well, personally, I love the custom artworks in Laxius Force, and what makes them even more impressive is that they were designed to fit the sprites. Some characters even get different combat graphics depending on what kind of armor they're wearing, which is something you don't see very often in RPG Maker games.
III - Gameplay: Those who have played the previous Laxius games know what to expect in Laxius Force: a really long game, with many quests to complete, many PCs to have fun with, and well-balanced combat. While Laxius Force is a challenging game, the beginning of the game is fairly easy compared to other Laxius games, and the main quests are not overly difficult, so even a casual gamer should be able to make it to the end of the game. There
are plenty of optional, much harder challenges for those who want them. What I find remarkable is that despite the fact that the game has many quests, they never get boring. Very few of them are average RPG fetch quests, so you will find plenty of neat things like getting the attention of a Thieves' Guild by looting a certain dungeon, helping a tormented spirit by entering its mind...
IV - Music and sounds: Laxius Force has 6 custom MP3 music tracks, and they're very good. My two favorite songs are the title screen song and the pyramid song. The rest of the music is from the RPG Maker XP RTP, but it's very well used, and the music always fits the situation. The same can be said for the background sounds in Laxius Force, ranging from howling wolves in a dark forest to creepy electrical noises in an abandoned science
complex.
Overall: Laxius Force is one of the best RPGs ever made." - Ruth Ingram
Laxius Force Review - "Laxius Force is a thrilling follow on from the Laxius Power series. It starts off with a pair of adventurers exploring a pyramid to find a cure for one of them that is cursed. The story then moves onto the main characters. Random and Sarah, who are living in the forest, have decided that they wish to rejoin civilisation after a period of rest from the ordeals that they suffered. On their way they meet new people
and old friends. They complete quests by helping people and go through many ordeals.
This RPG is a classic styled one that is reminicent of the nolstalgic older style RPG's. The fighting style of Laxius Force is a turn based system where you have a variety of attack options from magic to physical attacks. There are random encounters in some areas but in most you are able to see the monsters that you are confronting on the screen with.
The graphics themselves are quite nice and the variety of maps are well done! There are many secrets in Laxius Force that make exploring the maps fun.
The music is well done and fits the themes of the area that you are in quite well. One of the best parts is when you are in a forest surrounded by wolves and you can hear their cries of outrage! Very eerie and haunting that really set the mood of that area in Laxius Force.
The story line is nice and quite enjoyable to follow. There are many characters in Laxius Force with different personalities that clash yet somehow seem like it was always meant to be. The dialogue between them is sharp and witty.
Somethings are lacking from the game but do not make Laxius Force any less enjoyable. There is no world map. There is also no rush feature while fighting random encounter enemies, which can be at times tedious.
On the whole Laxius Force is a great RPG for those who are fans of the genre." - Kristine Tradup
Laxius Force Review - "Laxius Force - a truly fantastic RPG
I used to play a lot of different RPG during my life but it's the first time i feel so attracted to a game. When i started playing Laxius Force RPG i was thinking to myself :
"OH ! Here is a another cool RPG, i will play about one hour and get bored !"
This did not happen!
I was so wrong !
I have so much fun killing monsters and searching secrets in Laxius Force that i can't do anything else for days. And i even did not talk about the two romantic lovers Random and Sarah!
In fact, i have to admit it :
Laxius Force definitly is a WONDERFULL game. And FULL of wonders - is the right expression.
Laxius Force is has characters so-well drawned (the baby bird is so beautiful, i was speechless when i first saw him).
Full of items, a lot of different kind of weapon in Laxius Force (from classical swords to acorns ! Yes, believe me, in Laxius Force, you can hurt your opponents with a magical acorn).
Laxius Force is full of plots (specially a great cut-scene in the middle of the game, but i don't want to spoil the plot of the game !)
Laxius Force is also full of secrets and places to explore : some mazes, some characters, a lot of side quests, interested one which could give you special skills and new power.
To conclude, you have probably understand that Laxius Force is full of what we all like : adventures, wide and beautiful places, secrets which make your characters stronger and more FUN !
Trust me, it will take you months to finish Laxius Force and you won't regret it (in fact, you will probably do the game again and again !)" - Xiaoming Kao
Laxius Force Review - "Laxius Force is well worth the money!
Laxius Force is the sequel to the freeware Laxius Power trilogy.
Random and his fiancee,Sarah, have been living a peaceful life for 7 months after the events that happened at the end of Laxius Power 3.
Sarah gets tired of living away from civilisation, and the two agree to leave for Tyrine. After that the plot of Laxius Force unfolds, as they find out that the Demons' close coming has very severe effects on nature: the weather is very weird,as it is has been raining unstoppably in Tyrine and the peaceful animals have gone wild.Every major city in the Deport is threatened by an organisation who plans to help the Demons ravage the Deport.
The characters each have their own personalities. For example, Brussian, an ex-elf-turned-werewolf who wishes to return to his former human self, or Marion,a very shy Magicka Teacher. Don't think that these are the only playable characters, as Laxius Force features 17 playable characters!
The battles in Laxius Force are influenced by status effects and elements, rather than simply hacking away. This adds some strategical depth into the battles.
To this add more than 100 quests, a lot of secrets and a WHOLE LOT of easter eggs, and you've got yourself an good 80+ hour RPG in Laxius Force!" - Yue You Lai
Laxius Force Review - "Not much I can say about Laxius Force except what has been said earlier.
Excellent game, Interesting charaters, good story line...and lots of places to explore and stuff to find. Great support on the forums. Laxius Force is non-linaer, so if you are like me and enjoy building up levels or collecting gold , you can take your time. Not many old scool RPG's are out there, and even fewer high quality ones. Laxius Force is a treat for anyone who misses the days of Link and Zelda. Even better there are more to come in the series!" - Michaël G.
