Immortal Defense Review - "Of all the casual games I have ever played, Immortal Defense is the one I keep coming back to, over and over again. The premise, like all other tower defense games, is that you have a group of enemies traveling along a line and you have to set up towers to destroy them. What sets Immortal Defense apart from all the others is its depth, both in story and conception.
As Immortal Defense begins, you have volunteered to leave your wife and newborn child behind to defend your world as a 'pathspace defender' a dimension above hyperspace, which explains why the creeps follow a particular line as opposed to traveling randomly (a small thing, but this and other aspects really lend a sense of thought and care into the 'whys' behind Immortal Defense). The towers are introduced similarly, as different elements of your character
being reappropriated in the defense of your home.
The story in Immortal Defense twists and turns, and by the time you finish the final 96th level, you'll be completely sucked in. As Patrick Dugan of JayisGames says: ""I love you grandpa" is a piece of text that haunted me, leaving me shaken with wonder and existential horror, for hours after I finished Immortal Defense."
The graphics are great as well... perfect for the sci-fi theme, as is the musical score (although it can get a little repetitive after a while). As for replayability, each level has 10 difficulty settings, and even going a level up or down has very profound changes in how you play Immortal Defense. So yes... 960 levels in all when you include those... its no wonder I keep coming back." - Nick of

Immortal Defense Review - " I thought I had seen it all when it came to the Tower Defense genre. How wrong I was. I downloaded Immortal Defense and was expecting a typical wave-after-wave style game with clichéd towers. Instead, I found a game that is probably as much a beautiful work of art as it is a great game!
Following a storyline and guided by the "Great Aa", you are slowly introduced to the various aspects of Immortal Defense, which provides not only a great introduction to those as yet unfamiliar to this genre, but a thorough explanation of the differences Immortal Defense has to offer to those who already play this style of game.
The aim of Immortal Defense is not difficult, but at times, it can be entertainingly frustrating: Monsters follow a set path from start to finish, and the player's goal is to eliminate the monsters before they do by placing the so-called "towers". In Immortal Defense, however, no longer are there the typical "air" and "ground" type towers, nor are there elements or other such variables.
The gameplay is much more freeform, with no grid-like places in which you are forced to position your towers. And the towers ("points") are unique in Immortal Defense. There are of course, the typical "slow-down" and "boost-attack" towers, but so too are there mine spreading towers, towers which become more powerful as they kill more. Some take advantage of the Immortal Defense's unique curving paths. And even more unique is the
fact that the mouse cursor itself can damage the enemies.
Each level is completed not based on the number of waves, but based on time, meaning you must endure the attacks for long enough to reach the next stage. The currency for the purchase of towers ("cache") is carried on to the next stage, meaning you need to plan ahead in Immortal Defense.
All in all, I think Immortal Defense is a great game. While the graphics and sound may not the the top notch latest in 3D eye candy, it certainly has a distinct feel to it that very much matches the ethereal nature of the game itself, and in any case, the gameplay more than makes up for it!" - Alamo Al
