"FlatSpace II: Rise of the Scarrid Review - Flatspace 2 surprised me, I thought it would be an easy arcade-like casual style game but it's not. We can compare it a bit to Sid Meier's Pirates! A 3d space game, top view, which you can be from trader to bounty hunter, with a sandbox and arcade feeling.You can play Flatspace 2 on the Standard game, choosing your name, race (human or alien) and class (Trader, Scavenger, Bounty Hunter, Police Officer, and more).You start off in Flatspace 2 with no money and a simple ship, which varies to the class you chosen. You must do missions or trade to get money and start upgrading your Ship (which has a great variety, from radars to thursters, weapons and much more), so you can go on and get ranks on the guild you want to rank up (like Outlaw, Merchant or Alien Hunter guild). There's much do to on the game, can't exactly say everything about it..:] The Flatspace 2 graphics are fine, the sound is good, the gameplay is really simple. The difficulty is on getting used to the combat movement and also what to do next, on the beggining you get really lost since the game lacks a Tutorial. This game is worth downloading and buying, it provides a lot of fun. But don't stop looking at the clock or you'll lose your day playing. Scarrid Review - Flatspace II is a space trading kinda
of game, with some influences from "elite". You are the
captain of a ship, and as the name implies, you live in a flat universe(
2d with 3d elements). In this Flatspace 2 sequel, your ultimate
objective is to exterminate the aliens from the universe, but you
have pretty much liberty as what to do before or how to accomplish
this. Just to exemplify, there isn't anyone in the game that actually
tells you what to do, you decide it for yourself. There are a lot
of equipments for you to upgrade your ship, and a lot of ships itself,
and you may even buy the space stations used for docking, trading
and upgrading your equipment. Flatspace 2 has good graphics, very
envolving music, a nice AI programming, one of the highest replay
rates for a casual game (you surely can play it for months or years,
and many secrets to uncover...) i've seen, and is fun guranteed...
But the reason i consider this one of the best games ever, is 'cause
Flatspace II actually takes you away from your computer seat and
places you in another very realistic world, fighting for survival
and glory, and does it without having a fixed storyline."
