Avalon Review - "Avalon Hits the Mark - At first I thought Avalon was going to be similar to games such as Wandering Willows or even the Virtual Villagers series. I was very much mistaken. You create a fairy queen and run a fairy society. But in Avalon, you have to research and explore one whole area before you can progress to the second.
In my demo time in Avalon I managed to rescue a beetle, a rabbit, clean a special area, gain two new power types and activate four mini-games, simply by quitting the games after setting my fairies to a task and coming back later.
Pros for Avalon:
+ You can close the game leaving your fairies doing a specific task and come back to find them either having completed the set task or finishing it.
+ You can make new fairies and have them specialise in different areas.
+ You don't seem to run out of food and other supplies.
Cons for Avalon:
- So far, of the mini-games I have seen, they are a little repetitive and don't seem to make too much of a difference to the supply rate, and cost of different things.
- Some of the tasks are very time-consuming.
In all a good games, especially if you like fairies with beautiful graphics. When my time ran out I bought Avalon and am deep into rescuing the garden." - Simulation Sidney
Avalon Review - "Avalon is a Refreshingly Great Game -Ok i check this site everyday and almost everyday they have a new game out (except the weekends). And i was surprised to see a game that wasn't another seek and find or match three game. Avalon reminded me of like a virtual villagers type of game with a twist. Overall I really enjoyed playing Avalon and i would recommend it to people who are tired of the typical seek and find
game." - Gamicus Continuous
Avalon Review - "Avalon is Fabulous! I didn't expect much of this game, but oh, how I was wrong. It took me time at the beginning to figure out how things are working there, 'cause there's a lot to do at the beginning, and at one point I almost gave up because their chanting took too long and I didn't understand why, but I'm glad I didn't. Basically, in Avalon you run a fairy society, you have to assign them or to collect food,
magic or pollen, or to chant and do research. But you run Avalon in an interesting way, not like other society running games, which I despise. You are given an area and you have to fully explore it before you can move on to another area. There are books you have to research in order to learn spells, help animals, discover secrets and so on. In one word: Interesting! Worth buying definitely." - Galloping Gamer
Avalon Review - "Highly Enjoyable! Avalon is about managing your potions, food and magical items but no need to hurry. Assign fairies their jobs and make sure you leave them on one job to gain the most benefit. There are special items that only the Queen fairy can gather that will help you out. You have mini games to play to help you out as well. The fun is in exploring and figuring out who can do what, and how to do certain
things. My Avalon demo went way too fast, so I bought it!" - Fairy Queen Wannabe
Avalon Review - "Nuts and Bolts of Avalon. It's got a little of everything, minigames that help you suceed but if you're terrible at them you can still move forward, goals to acheive, puzzles to solve, cartoon chicks in cute dresses with wings...
What more could you ask for?
I thought the Avalon tutorial was well presented and even though I didn't read half of it, I still got it.
If you liked the virtual villagers group of games and others like it you'll be enchanted by Avalon." - Sims Forever!
